TESTIMONIALS WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID
Too often when planning conferences and events, we focus only on what we can give those who attend. For two years now, the WA Baptist Women's conference has selected projects with Baptist World Aid Australia that give those who attend the opportunity to give back! In one offering, women gave over $20,000 to supply water to a village in PNG and the experience was a highlight of the day. Already some are asking what we get to do next year.
By partnering with Baptist World Aid Australia at conferences, it enables people to reach out to others in a way they could never do on their own. Sow the vision, partner well and then let God bring the blessing. We have so much we can do…people just need to be given the opportunity.
Karen Wilson, WA Baptist Women's State President
What an impact the (education) program is having at our church. The messages and bible study material have generated lots of discussion and man comment to the effect that we must not just make this a five week program! Most people have realised there is so much in the scriptures about our responsibility to the poor. The birthday card idea has been a hit and people are more confident that they can have a voice to governments and challenge them about their needs to protect and aid the poor and marginalised.
Warren Griffin, Senior Pastor, Concord Baptist Church
Spending a period of time around the theme of God’s heart for the poor was beneficial but the unexpected impact was the praying and having people move around prayer stations. I didn’t know how our community would engage in it...and I was blown away by the responses! Comments like ‘this is the best explanation and opportunity for prayer I think we have ever had together’ and ‘I was so moved emotionally as i tried to pray for these situations my heart was really crying out to God and going out to those who suffer’... An absolute highlight and thrill for me! Incredibly powerful!
Steve Parish, Senior Pastor, Wendouree Baptist Church
