Welcome to Baptist World Aid Australia

Federal Election 2010

The federal election has been called and this is an excellent opportunity to talk with our leaders and help make addressing global poverty an election issue.

Baptist World Aid Australia supporters, Catalyst groups and Micah Challenge supporters are sending letters to both parties in the lead up to the election. These letters will:

  • remind the campaigning parties that Australians are concerned about global poverty
  • affirm that we want to see 0.7% of Australian national income given to overseas aid projects (this is the amount needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and halve global poverty by 2015).

Add your voice and speak up for justice in this election.

It's simple, all you have to do is:

  1. Download the letters  - Labor Letter, Coalition Letter
  2. Insert the name of the Labor or Coalition member campaigning for your electorate
(you can find your electorate here and the details of
    Labor candidates, and Coalition candidates)
  3. Sign and post to the politician before it's too late

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call Gershon Nimbalker or Scott Higgins on 1300 789 991 or email us.
